Whatifsports Historical Fantasy Hockey

Tim emails:

"I'm currently playing this fantasy hockey game — don't know if you've followed the link ever from tsn.ca.

"Anyway, in the free trial league you get to pick your team from almost any player of any era. For example, '83-'84 Gretzky and the '93-'94 Mike Richter, etc. (I find some important players missing — like the '85-'86 Ranger captain Barry Beck. But alas.)

"Anyhoo, you build a team that fits the salary cap. The free version has 6 teams that get lumped into the Campbell Conference and play 10 games. So you play each other team twice. It's totally simulated so you just check back and it gives you a recap of the game.

"My current team sucks.

"Anyway, it is rather involved to sign up and pick a team (although I guess that's the whole fun of it), but I thought a sextet of Just Wide readers might want to play."

Tim, that's the whole readership! It looks fun, and pretty challenging. I've signed up, and am in the middle of drafting my team. Watch this message board for details on how to join our private league!
