My sister often buys me hockey tickets on gift-giving occasions, usually sending me to a Red Wings away game in my current home city of New York. This, by the way, is an excellent gift. Next time there's an NHL season, consider giving tickets to the hockey fan in your family.
This plan of hers hit a snag last year, when Detroit played at Madison Square Garden only once, on a weekend when I, curse the fates, was going to be in Detroit. When the Red Wings aren't in town, one Rangers game is just like another to her, right? She had to find another criterion for deciding which game to send me to. She decided to choose by the best turnstile giveaways, and a clear winner emerged:
Wednesday, November 12 was Brian Leetch Nesting Doll Night.
Unfortunately, there was some snafu, and I didn't get my Brian Leetch nesting doll(s) at the gate. I don't know if they ran out, or if there was a delay in shipping, or what. But finally, this past April, almost half a year later, my sister finally received one set of Brian Leetch nesting dolls in the mail (at the billing address for the credit card she used to buy the tickets). She passed the little feller along to me last week, and I'm posting him here to share with you, in all his glorious weirdness. Note that Brian Leetch had been a Maple Leaf for months by the time I got this.
Please excuse the poor quality of the photos, which I took with my phone.

This is among the greatest game night giveaways I've ever gotten. What are some of your favorites?
