In a
column on ESPN.com, Scott Burnside describes the "labor stoppage that almost certainly will precipitate landmark changes to the game," and does so in really, really short paragraphs. Take these two for instance:
"But these are things Bettman cannot know."
"No one can."
Here are four sentences from Burnside's column:
"Some will ply their trade in Europe. Others will take classes or walk their children to school. The hockey canvas is now blank. What image will appear there and when, no one knows."
How many paragraphs do you think that passage should be? Burnside makes it into four!
Meanwhile, Canada.com says
"expect this lockout to last," and Nike has put together a characteristically
stylish spot saying "bring it back." Nike makes good-looking stuff, don't they? I presume the cinematographer is a non-union eight-year-old Bangladeshi girl.
