At the end of September, while crashing on a friend's sofa for a weekend in Chicago, I found this cartoon about sex and hockey in the May issue of
Playboy, which was in my friend's wastebasket. (It was right there on top; I didn't go digging through his trash.) I knew right away I had to share it with Just Wide.
The strip is signed by Ivan Alvarez and "Jorge G," and I mean no special disrespect to them when I say that
Playboy's comics have come down several notches since the Kurtzman and Elder team had tenure. (The principal female character in this strip is called "Annie," but Little Annie Fanny she ain't.)
Is the cuckolded couch-potato unaware that "the great Martin LeClerc" is his next-door neighbor? And what's with the queer translation? Why didn't some
Playboy editor specify that Americans call "the match" "the game?"
I leave these questions and the strip to you. Click "read more" to see it, but maybe not at your stuffy job; it features a few cartoon boobies.
