What happened? It's been over a month since our crack(head) reporting team has done anything but prune the spam from our message boards. We missed the Olympics. It won't happen again. We've already cleared our schedule for 2010.
More significantly, the
JWFHL playoffs are in full swing, and some big-deal real-life trades have shaken things up for a few of our fantasy coaches. Like: remember how Jussi Markkanen used to start regularly for the Oilers? Yeah, that's not happening anymore. The JWFHL coaches' message board has fallen silent, since none of us wants to give the press any red meat with which to bait the enemy, or inadvertently tip an opponent off about the seriousness of a player's injury. But since the first round is over, maybe one or two eliminated skippers might share some post-season thoughts on the message board below.
Also: Regular readers should be aware that this year's S.C.H.L.U.B.B. activities will take place immediately following the end of the regular season. For the uninitiated, S.C.H.L.U.B.B. is Just Wide's annual playoff beard-growing extravaganza, and it's every bit as entertaining as it is kind of sad. Start pushing back your scheduled family portraits, and if your home team's playoff hopes are lost,* you might want to start warming up to whatever unfamiliar team you'll be rooting for instead.
*I'm looking at you, St. Louisans.
